May 17th, 2009UncategorizedSo. The first year in the CDT department at Parsons is winding down. It has been an amazing year. I am pretty excited about undertaking the thesis process next year. In the meantime…
I’m going to China! The department is taking about 60 students to Beijing for three weeks to work with Tsinghua University on several exciting projects. I have been helping to plan out two different games to be played while we are there. One of which is a Dragon Hunt in the forbidden city. We will conduct a photo hunt of the various dragons that have an integral part of traditional Chinese architecture. I am really looking forward to this!
I will be posting more posts and pics about this as the trip continues.

April 30th, 2009UncategorizedToday I am helping out with a Project here at Parsons CDT called Wakatta! It is a two-day brainstorming session for members of the educational organizations in New York City. They utilize design methodologies to prototype new products that can be used to shift educational methods to less traditional methods. Read more here.
The project was initiated by Colleen Macklin and PetLab here at Parsons. It has been an exciting experience. I will post more soon!

April 20th, 2009UncategorizedI had a session last Friday to paper prototype some of the game mechanics of the game I am developing as my final project for my Interactive Major Studio.
The game is based on the real life experiences of a CIA agent working abroad in the 70’s and 80’s. The goal of the game is for two teams of three people to compete for pieces intelligence. These pieces are unlocked by deciphering a combination of online and on-site clues give the locations of the intelligence.
Here is a video of the prototyping process.

March 24th, 2009Uncategorized
I am developing a Big Urban/Alternate Reality Game for a final project. The game is inspired by many conversations I have had with a retired CIA Agent who worked in the 70’s and 80’s in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The game is based on the Trade Craft of Intelligence Agents working in that era.We had our first player-test yesterday in Union Square. Here are some pics.

February 26th, 2009UncategorizedNokia held a Game Jam at Parsons last weekend.
I teamed up with Grace Salem to develop an interactive game that runs on the Nokia N60. We came up with Alien Abduction. A Game that takes place on the streets of NYC. There are two teams, an Alien Team and a Human Team. They are competing for “victims”. Either trying to save them or abduct them accordingly. Here is a rough prototype in Flash and the PPT that lays out the details.
